May 2026 is a huge month for Walton, Waterton Park Hotel and the local community as WallFest kicks off Organised by the Friends of Waterton’s Wall this vibrant, month-long community festival celebrates the 200th anniversary of Charles Waterton’s historic wall – built in 1826 to enclose what is widely recognised as the world’s first nature reserve The festival brings together over 50 events inspired by four key themes: nature, creativity, heritage & wellbeing. From guided walks, workshops & talks to family activities, exhibitions & performances, the programme offers something for all ages while highlighting the environmental legacy of Waterton & the cultural significance of this unique site.
