Access Statement
The Waterton Park Hotel and Walton Hall welcomes guests with disabilities and has developed the Access Statement to address some of the more common issues that disabled people face.
This Access Statement is intended to provide additional information for all guests who wish to attend or use our facilities. Recognition has been given to include guests with an impairment, which could include mobility, sight, hearing, learning disabilities or any other hidden impairment.
The Waterton Park Hotel and Walton Hall aim to ensure that all employees, guests and others who use or assist in the provision of our services – whether they have a mobility difficulty, a visual impairment, are deaf or hard of hearing, have a speech impairment, have a learning difficulty or mental health disability, use a wheelchair, cane, walking frame or crutches, or have any other disability- are treated equally and according to their needs.
We request that anyone wishing to make an enquiry or booking, inform us directly by telephone or email of any special needs or disability that they may have in order for us to try and meet any personal requirements. We do not provide wheelchairs. All staff are fully trained to assist disabled guests with empathy.
The hotel has one large car park with 3 designated disabled parking spaces. The nearest disabled car park space is 5 meters from the front door of Waterton Park Hotel.
Waterton Park Hotel has 2 disabled bedrooms, a lift to the first floor, where the main function suite is, “The County Suite” all on one level. A disabled toilet is 7 meters from the door of The County Suite.
The ground floor Georgian Room has 2 steps leading up to it. A ramp can be provided.
The Breakfast Room and Spa are fully accessible.
Walton Hall can only be accessed by a 34 meter narrow bridge from the car park, then a 40 meter cobbled path to the Hall front door. There are 2 steps up to the Hall front door, a ramp is provided at the right of the hotel steps. Walton Hall has 6 ground floor bedrooms accessible by 3 steps.
A disabled toilet is available on the ground floor of the Hall next to Charlie’s Bar.
The Health and Leisure club is only accessible by 11 steps leading down to it, there are no disabled toilets on this floor.
The Waterton Suite function room is on the first floor and can only be accessed by a 25 stepped curved wide staircase. There is no lift to this floor and there are no public toilets on this floor.
