AT WATERTON PARK HOTEL
STEPHEN FEARNLEY JOINS WATERTON PARK HOTEL
Stephen boasts huge experience in the hotel industry having led and developed teams at a wide range of properties and groups including Mottram Hall and Rookery Hall in Cheshire, New Hall in the West Midlands, Hard Day’s Night in Liverpool, and most recently, historic Billesley Manor near Stratford. Just a couple of weeks into the role, we caught up with him:
What attracted you to the role at Waterton?
‘I have always enjoyed leading teams in stunning historic country house hotel settings whether they be manors, halls or parks – with Waterton I get a Walton Hall and Waterton Park!’
What excites you most about the role? Ambitions for the hotel?
‘As a Yorkshireman, born only a few miles down the road, but having never led a hotel in this wonderful county, heading a great team in this stunning historic setting really excites me. Main ambitions are to deliver guest satisfaction always above and beyond their expectations and by this creating real advocates of our hotel, increasing team engagement and enjoyment by fostering a positive team culture and establishing a strong reputation within the local and regional community whilst always implementing sustainable practises’
How do you like to spend your down time?
‘I enjoy spending quality time with my family, especially at our caravan by the shores of Windermere in the Lake District – its our happy place! Also, the golf clubs may well be coming out of retirement with such a fabulous course on the doorstep of Waterton’
An experienced operator who enjoys developing his teams, engaging with the local community and celebrating the history and heritage of his properties. Looks like the perfect fit!
We’re looking forward to a successful and prosperous 2025. Best of luck Stephen!
