WALLFEST 26
200 YEARS OF WATERTON'S WALL
WallFest 26 is a vibrant, month-long community festival taking place throughout May 2026, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Charles Waterton’s historic wall – built in 1826 to enclose what is widely recognised as the world’s first nature reserve.
Organised by the Friends of Waterton’s Wall, the festival brings together over 50 events inspired by four key themes: nature, creativity, heritage & wellbeing. From guided walks, workshops & talks to family activities, exhibitions & performances, the programme offers something for all ages while highlighting the environmental legacy of Waterton & the cultural significance of this unique site.
Supported by local organisations, artists & volunteers, WallFest 26 is both a celebration of history & a forward-looking community event, to mark this remarkable bicentenary.
